Since 1927, the Goodstein family has been constructing and developing real estate and contributing greatly to the communities where they live and work. We’ve currently completed several new projects in Florida and Richmond, Virginia. Our service division as advisors to others has grown as well. Whether developing for our own growing portfolio in our 3rd generation, advising others or helping guide our private investors through this new century, we continue to live by our long-standing credo:
Honesty, Integrity & Ethics
The following pages highlight some of our past projects and recognitions from the communities we serve. The Goodstein Organization has been a major force in reshaping New York’s skyline. Its developments are designed to enhance the specific neighborhoods in which they were built. In recognition of its achievements, the Goodstein Organization has been the recipient of numerous awards. Washington Market Park was given national recognition by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in 1984. From a block grant, public and private funds were melded to create a community park. The result is a peaceful escape from the noisy and cluttered Manhattan streets.
The renovation of the Taft Hotel is another example of the Goodstein Organization’s commitment to community excellence. Its efforts not only sparked other developers’ interests in the area, but also brought national acclaim to the project. The gut rehabilitation resulted in a 500,000 square-foot masterpiece, comprised of a luxury four-star hotel, a 445-unit condominium complex and 80,000 square feet of commercial space. New York University honored the Company with their “Deal of the Year” Award for best mixed-use project. The National Council of the Multi-Family Housing Industry named this project the “Best Property Rehabilitation”. Zaggats ranked it in the Top Ten for Best Rooms, Best Service, Best Dining and overall Best Bang for the Buck.
The Goodstein Organization’s standards of quality and excellence have been a positive contribution to many diverse neighborhoods. The Company looks forward to renewing its commitment to excellence through a number of future projects. In 1991, the Goodstein Organization completed the Cove Club Condominium in Battery Park City. This 163-unit condominium was designed to take advantage of the breathtaking New York harbor views. In the recession of the ‘90’s, Goodstein successfully marketed and sold units not only locally but with Fung Sui in Tiepe, Hong Kong, Bangkok and other parts of the Orient. The Goodstein Organization strives for excellence and plans its developments to be a model for the nation.
